The Master Flow 8 in. Starting Collar with Damper is suitable for most HVAC applications. It provides a transition from a flat surface like a plenum (made from metal, duct board or insulated) to round pipe or insulated flexible duct. The installed damper helps to control airflow in the run of pipe. This galvanized steel starting collar can be used with duct board, an internally lined or unlined plenum. It features extra-long tabs to fit most duct board thicknesses.

This product meets all required needs, in the description. However, when the collar doesn't come with the damper, then this become just a regular start collar. Have time to order the product, then wait the time to received the e-mail stated for pickup. Then comes the hard part, open the boxes there in front of employees, or going home thinking that no one can really screw this up. Take the time to check out the product before you leave. So, I left not knowing that I was missing the roughly 9 dampers that I should have receive, Next day, returned and told the returns employee that this order was missing one key idem per product. So, instead of just reordering the dampeners to get new one, she just cancelled the order completely. Got refunds for my order. She then tells me to talk to the other employ to re-order what I originally wanted. Instead I got my refund receipts and walked out. I then drove a little further away and purchase what I original wanted. But now with about one week of wasted time of having to deal nothing positive. This happened with the 8", 6", 5" products. I had planned for a week lead time, with some more for building ducts. This turned into stopping work to search for parts that were listed in the product description.

These were purchased to install new flexible hose to existing 1-1/4 inch thick duct board. They did work but I would suggest that they would fit better onto 1-1/2-2 inch thick material. They appear to be well made and are easily adjusted after you bend the arm out a bit to clear the insulation.
